I began teaching High School in Las Cruces in 1980 until we moved back to El Paso in 1991. I taught at Ysleta High, Montwood High, and Mission Early College until my retirement from public school in 2013. I also taught as an adjunct History professor at EPCC for 25 years. I have been married to my husband John for 43 years. He is an English instructor and we taught together at Montwood and EPCC. We are the proud parents of 2 boys who graduated from Montwood, ASU, Texas State, and UTEP. They are both instructors today. We have 2 grandsons, Morgan and McCrae, who are in elementary school in Austin. We were fortunate to find a home in Cielo Vista in 2015 and are enjoying our retirement in this extraordinary neighborhood. I hold several offices in my church, St. Paul's UMC on Edgemere, and I hope to be a more active part of CVNA. My passions are education, travel, and family.

Genevieve Harkins, Backup Secretary

I, Genny Harkins, am your CVNA  secretary.  As an Army brat and wife I was without roots until my husband retired in 1967 and we bought our home in Cielo Vista.  My four children are Burges graduates and three of them have degrees from UTEP.  I retired from EPISD after teaching for 28 years.  I then tutored at Cielo Vista Elementary School for ten more years. I am active in CVNA because I believe it is our duty to provide the best neighborhood  possible for the welfare of our children and to improve the quality of life for all of our residents.
